Coaching by Laurie McTeague

Hi, I'm Laurie.
To support this mission, I am a certified and practicing:
-
Wayfinder Coach®
-
Soul's Calling Coach®
-
Equus Master Facilitator®
-
Trainer in Dynamic Emotional Integration®
-
Yoga Instructor and Facilitator of Yoga for 12-Step Recovery®
Separately and together, these modalities help my clients find agency, ease stress and suffering, build effective and mutually respectful relationships, and contribute their unique talents and perspective toward a more harmonious and equitable society.
Formerly a lawyer and non-profit leader, I transitioned into a career as a personal and executive coach after embarking on an extensive (and ongoing) journey with my oldest son through the storms of addiction and mental illness. The common thread -- my passion for providing space and tools for people to map out their unique course through life and to navigate the inevitable passage through uncertainty and change.
My personal mission -- to promote individual and collective well-being by helping people find the sweet spot between personal freedom and deep, meaningful connection; helping them locate and embody self AND respect the needs and perspectives of others, in order to inhabit the nourishing space where those intersect.

About My Past Work
As a founding partner of Trust for Learning, a philanthropic partnership dedicated to expanding access to ideal early learning environments, I worked for nearly a decade to bring a perspective of empowerment, potential and systems transformation to the world of education, with a particular focus on early childhood.

In 2020, this mission led me to serve as an advisor and supporter of the National Anti-Racism Teach-In, a national anti-racist conference and global movement designed to identify, analyze, and challenge racism and white supremacy.
While living in Connecticut, I also served as a member of the Education and Youth Development Committee of the Fairfield County Community Foundation, co-founder of the Education Leadership Forum, Trustee of an independent school and of a dance company, and as an elected member of a Town board.
A graduate of Harvard Law School, I also worked as a corporate lawyer and as associate general counsel for The Community Builders, Inc., a non-profit organization focused on affordable housing, urban revitalization and community development -- building healthy, mixed-income communities that offer opportunity for all.

In 2008, I worked extensively as a regional volunteer field organizer and fundraiser for Obama for America and, in 2009, for Organizing for America.
